Speaker biography KEYNOTE PROGRAM PROFILE

Charles Lu is a mechatronics engineer, technopreneur, and founder of 3Ready Prototyping Lab and Luminary Studios based in Manila, Philippines. Holding a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Management from De La Salle University, Charles operates at the critical intersection of functional mechanics, rapid digital fabrication, and production-grade hardware development.

Through 3Ready, Charles designs, tests, and fabricates high-tolerance devices—including DOST-recognized glucometer mechanisms, precision microbial fuel cell assemblies, automated G-code post-processing pipelines, and bespoke mechatronic systems. As an invited speaker at NAST Philippines, DOST AMCen, DLSU, PUP, and UE Manila, Charles delivers battle-tested frameworks on lean fabrication, rapid iteration cycles, and taking hardware from raw CAD models to physical reality.

Signature keynote and workshop blueprints LIVE HARDWARE DEMOS INCLUDED

BLUEPRINT 01 // KEYNOTE · 45–60 MINS

Engineering practice and real-world execution

Navigating the messy reality of engineering execution versus textbook theory. Focuses on design ambiguity, cross-functional communication, and structured failed iteration analysis.

Demo: Live tolerance fit step-blocks (±0.02mm to ±0.20mm) & mechanism teardowns.
BLUEPRINT 02 // MASTERCLASS · 60–90 MINS

Additive manufacturing and functional prototyping

Moving beyond visual prototypes to end-use production parts. Teaches dimensional repeatability (±0.1 mm), infill anisotropy, layer cooling physics, and custom G-code transforms.

Demo: Calibrated desktop motion assembly & polymer tensile test specimens.
BLUEPRINT 03 // RESEARCH KEYNOTE · 45–60 MINS

Research to physical reality: Academic commercialization

Accelerating the translation of university laboratory research and thesis prototypes into testable, deployable hardware. Features case studies from DOST, OLFU, and Mapúa collaborations.

Demo: Working All-in-One Glucometer mechanism & Microbial Fuel Cell test rig.
BLUEPRINT 04 // WORKSHOP & TALK · 60–120 MINS

MEM to market: Agile hardware prototyping

The three operational pillars of rapid fabrication: Jiritsuka (in-house machine autonomy), Just-In-Time lean inventory execution, and empirical Kaizen continuous improvement.

Demo: Production batch jigs, automated post-processing fixtures, and iteration artifacts.
